KARACHI: A fast-moving trailer ran over and killed a woman in Orangi Town on Saturday, police said.

They added that Shahnaz Nazeer was passing through Bacha Khan Chowk within the remit of the Pirabad police station when the heavy vehicle hit her.

The police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the incident, arrested trailer driver Ali Hamza and impounded the vehicle.

SSP-West Tariq Illahi Mastoi said that the accident appeared to be an outcome of over-speeding.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Only on Friday, a man and his wife were killed by a dumper on M.T. Khan Road. A four-year-old boy was also run over and killed by a water tanker in Orangi Town.
