Days before being killed in a targeted attack by Israeli forces, Anas al-Sharif was offered a deal: stop covering Gaza, and he and his family could leave safely, Al Jazeera reports.

Anas’ brother says the Al Jazeera journalist chose to keep reporting the truth until his last breath.

Since October 2023, Israel has killed hundreds of journalists in Gaza. Many, like Anas, were targeted for refusing to stay silent about Israel’s unrelenting onslaught on Gaza.
