Two ‘terrorists’ killed in shootout with CTD

MIANWALI: Two alleged terrorists were killed in a shootout with the Counter Terrorism Department during the night between Thursday and Friday in Katcha Gujrat area.

Giving details of the encounter, Mianwali CTD Incharge inspector Awaids Aslam Khan said that they got information about the presence of a group of terrorists in the riverine area of Katcha Gujrat, tehsil Piplan, preparing to attack some target in the district.

At midnight, the CTD team intercepted 10 bike riders who started firing.

The CTD retaliated as “the encounter with terrorists lasted for more than half an hour.”

During a search operation on Friday morning, CTD personnel found two dead bodies of terrorists and recovered two hand grenades, heavy ammunition and two rifles.

“The operation to arrest the fleeing outlaws continued on Friday.”
