ISLAMABAD: As Kashmiris around the world observed Youm-i-Istehsal, the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution reaffirming Pakistan’s political, diplomatic, and moral support for the people of the disputed region, and their right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, in Srinagar, supporters of the Indian National Congress supporters held a protest to demand statehood for Indian-occupied Kashmir. The move comes as India’s top court is set hear a plea for the restoration of held Kashmir’s statehood later this week.

Rallies, official events, and global observances were held to express solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for their right to self-determination.

The main rally in Islamabad began at the Foreign Office and concluded at D-Chowk, with participation from government officials, diplomats, civil society members, and the general public.

A minute’s silence was observed at 10am across the country to honour the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.
