LAKKI MARWAT: Two policemen were injured in yet another quadcopter strike on the Miryan police station in Bannu district on Sunday.

A police official confirmed the aerial strike, saying that the wounded cops, Adnan and Ihsan, were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

“It appears that thermal cameras installed at the police station for security and surveillance purposes were the target of the attack as the quadcopter dropped explosives near them,” he claimed.

The official said the police opened fire but they could not hit the quadcopter due to its high speed and it disappeared towards the Ghora Bakkakhel area.

On Saturday, six security personnel, including two army soldiers and three CTD commandos, were injured in a quadcopter attack on the same police station amid an ongoing operation against terrorists.

The police station has come under several quadcopter attacks by terrorists during the last over one month.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy was killed and six others were injured when a car of a wedding party met an accident near Gandi Chowk on Bannu-DI Khan Road in Lakki Marwat on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Hamza, 15, a resident of Nasar Din Begukhel.
