C’wealth Games prove costly

ISLAMABAD, May 17: A sum of Rs8.582 million was spent on Pakistan's participation in recently held Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, the sports minister told the Senate in a written response on Wednesday.

Mian Shamim Haider, responding to a question by Senator Mohammad Enver Baig, said Rs5.450 million were spent on air fare of the contingent.

Foreign exchange paid for out of pocket expenses was Rs2.215 million while another Rs0.915 million were spent on miscellaneous expenditures.
