LAHORE: A five-race card awaits equine sports lovers when the 9th night race meeting of the Lahore Race Club (LRC) takes place here at the Racecourse on Sunday.

In all, 35 horses are likely to take part in the day’s events, four to be run over 900 metres and one over 1,000 metres. The distance of races has been reduced to 900 metres due to an extremely muggy weather prevailing across the city.

Meanwhile, the LRC has announced for incoming horses that they will be allowed entry in the club premises only after a complete checkup and clearance certificate issued by the LRC Veterinarians about animals’ health.

Desi horses will not be allowed entry come what may, the announcement added.

These precautionary measures have been taken in view of the safety of animals stabled on the club premises. The first race starts at 6:00pm.
