SIALKOT, May 17: The excise and taxation officials sealed Daska digital phone exchange on World Telecommunication Day on Wednesday owing to non-payment of Rs40,000 arrears.

The Sialkot E&T officials told the press that the department had issued 20 notices to the exchange management after privatisation of the PTCL, but they did not pay any attention. After the closure, the PTCL employees could not perform their duties which hampered working of the exchange.

The E&T officials said the exchange would remain sealed till payment of the arrears.
