KOHAT, May 17: Three members of a family were killed and four others were seriously injured when a boulder fell on them while digging a portion of a mountain in a remote area of Orakzai Agency.

Local people pulled out the bodies of Gul Zameen, Khyal Asghar and Qismat Jalal and the injured persons from under the rock. The injured were admitted to a local hospital, officials said.

POWER BREAKDOWN: A six-hour power breakdown hit the district on Tuesday after strong winds uprooted trees and some electricity poles near the grid station and the OTS Road.

An old tree fell near the army-run Samana Bakery and three tres on the Officers Training School Road which caused the blackout.

BLACK DAY: The Imamia Student Organisation staged a protest in front of the Kohat Press Club against anti-Muslim policies of the United States. They also observed the day of Israel’s creation as a black day.

Speaking on the occasion, ISO president Mohammad Hussain said that the government should withdraw its support for the US war against terror in which only Muslim countries were being targeted.

They demanded that Israel should vacate the occupied territories and the US should stop threatening Iran.
