GUJRANWALA: Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar inaugurated the newly-constructed wrestling sports complex and mini stadium during his visit to the city on Wednesday.

Punjab Sports Secretary Muzaffar Khan Sial, prominent local figures and a large number of wrestling enthusiasts also attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said that under the vision of the chief minister, a comprehensive sports infrastructure was being developed across the province.

“Wrestling is an identity of our region, and Gujranwala – the city of wrestlers – has now been gifted a dedicated wrestling complex,” said Mr Khokhar. He said the complex had been constructed by the Punjab Sports Department at a cost of Rs155 million.

The minister said that the mini stadium, built at a cost of Rs75 million, offered facilities for multiple sports, providing local youth with ample opportunities for training and competition.

“This initiative will help produce new wrestling talent and enable our youth to shine on international platforms,” he remarked.
