GUJRAT: At least four teenage boys, including two brothers, allegedly drowned while swimming in a pond on Mohri Road in Kharian Saddar police precincts on Wednesday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, two brothers, Ali Hassan and Muhammad Ali, along with their friends Samillah and Waqas, all aged between nine and fifteen years, took their cattle heads to a pond. All were residents of Pind Sultanpur village.

While swimming in the pond, they went into deep waters and drowned.

The rescuers say that an unidentified boy, who was also accompanying the two brothers and their friends, informed the families of the deceased children about the drowning incident.

The locals called Rescue 1122 divers for help, who retrieved the bodies from the pond and handed them over to their bereaved families.

Police are looking into the matter.
