United States Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders has announced that he will force votes in the US Senate tomorrow to block the sale of weapons to Israel.
In a post on X, the senator wrote: “The time is long overdue for Congress to stop funding Israel’s illegal and horrific war against the Palestinian people. The US must not support a government which is starving children.”
According to a press release enclosed with the post, Sanders will force votes on Senate joint resolutions S.J.Res.34 and S.J.Res.41, which prohibit the sale of $675.7 million in bombs and munitions and the sale of fully automatic assault rifles, respectively.
