Explosion rocks Nushki

QUETTA, May 16: Nushki town was rocked by a powerful explosion close to the office of Afghan refugee organisation on Tuesday. A wall of the office was damaged while windowpanes of AFO office and nearby buildings were smashed. However, no casualty was reported.

CLASHES: Armed clashes took place between security forces and tribesmen in different areas of Dera Bugti and Kohlu districts, while many landmines were defused in Loti and Sangsilla on Tuesday.

Light and heavy weapons were used by both sides. No casualty was reported.

The security forces during a search operation recovered at least 11 landmines from Loti, Pir Koh and Goth Habib Rahi areas of Dera Bugti district.

STRIKE: A complete strike was observed in Wadh area, the native town of veteran nationalist leader Sardar Ataullah Mengal, on Tuesday against the siege of the town and deployment of a heavy contingent of forces.

The protesters also staged a demonstration which was addressed by Abdul Rauf Mengal MNA, Mir Mohammad Akbar Mengal and other party leaders.
