LAHORE: The Multan Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Monday arrested an additional medical superintendent of Shahbaz Sharif Hospital for taking an amount of Rs100,000 for giving a job.

The ACE headquarter circle officer Naveed Anjum along with a civil magistrate conducted a raid at the office of additional MS Shehbaz of Sharif Hospital Dr Haron Bukhari and arrested him after recovering marked currency.

ACE Director Basharat Nabi told Dawn that the additional MS was involved in taking bribe to give job to a citizen.

He said that the additional MS had taken Rs 0.1 million from the citizen and was demanding more to give the job.

“We conducted a raid after the visit of the citizen and arrested the additional MS and also recovered marked currency.”

He said an investigation had been launched to know how many jobs had been sold earlier in the hospital.
