KHUZDAR: The district election commissioner of Surab and a data entry operator were killed and another person was injured in a collision between two vehicles on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway near Surab on Friday.

Police said that District Election Commissioner Mohammad Akbar Qureshi and data entry operator Maqsood Ahmed died on the spot after sustaining multiple injuries. Saddam Hussain Mengal, an assistant at the district election office in Surab, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the district hospital.

The bodies were handed over to families after medico-legal formalities were completed.

Meanwhile, three teenagers drowned while bathing in Sarona stream in Khuzdar district. Levies recovered the bodies and handed over to the families. The deceased were identified as Ahmed Ali, Ghulam Mustafa and Wazir Ahmed.
