QUETTA: Balochistan Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani said on Thursday the government is focusing on improving education quality.

Ms Durrani made the remarks while visiting various educational institutions in Pishin. During the visit, she met with teachers and students, who informed the minister about their problems.

She directed officials to immediately activate non-functional computer and science labs, as well as libraries.

“It is the responsibility of the teachers to play their role to educate the students in a modern way,” Ms Durrani said, adding that students must be taught to use their abilities “for the betterment of the country and the province in future”.

Ms Durrani also issued a stern warning on teacher truancy.

“No compromise will be made on the absence of teachers,” she said.
