LAKKI MARWAT, May 14: Pesco launched a crackdown to curb the menace of power theft in the district and found at least 200 illegal connections. Cases have been lodged during the last three days against the people involved.

Sources revealed on Sunday that Pesco had to face huge losses as 80 per cent of the people living in rural areas of the district were involved in electricity theft.

A Pesco team led by the assistant manager (operations) had launched a three-day campaign against electricity thieves and conducted raids in Abakhel, Naverkhel, Zer Janu, Begukhel, Chunnai Mastikhel and Ahmadkhel Koroona. It found at least 200 illegal connections and lodged cases against the people involved.
