QUETTA, May 13: the Sui naib tehsildar and seven other people were kidnapped in Uch and Sui areas by armed men on Saturday.

According to sources, Sui Naib Tehsildar Shahzada Bugti had gone to Uch area to investigate complaints about illegal occupation of land of Kalpar tribesmen when he was kidnapped at gunpoint.

“We have registered a case against Jamhoori Watan Party MPA Jumma Khan and two others,” Dera Bugti District Coordination Officer Abdul Samad Lasi said. He claimed that armed supporters of the MPA were threatening the naib tehsildar. The DCO said security forces had cordoned off the area.

Armed men also kidnapped seven people of Masoori clan, two of them women, after intercepting their vehicle.

“An enmity between two groups of the clan resulted in the kidnapping,” a Sui administration official said. He said a case had been registered against those nominated by the victim group.

Security forces launched an operation for the recovery of the kidnapped people.

Meanwhile, five rockets were fired at Frontier Corps checkpoints in Sangsilla Chashma area of Pir Koh.
