SHEIKHUPURA, May 13: A large number of female PTC teachers have protested against what they said apathy of the education department for not paying their salaries for the last three months.

Protesters, led by Ms Shazia, told journalists here on Saturday that the department stopped their salaries on the plea that the post of the deputy education officer was lying vacant after transfer. The teachers blamed the EDO for not appointing the new deputy education officer.

When Education EDO Aslam Seikhu was contacted, his personal assistant said that the former was attending a meeting.
