KARACHI: A young man drowned in the sea at Hawkesbay on Sunday morning, police and rescue services officials said.

They said that Saqib Ali, 22, was swimming at Turtle Beach when he was swept away by strong waves.

The body was later recovered by Edhi Foundation volunteers and shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, the body of a young man was found floating in the sea near Ibrahim Hyderi on Sunday.

The body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of his death.

Meanwhile, the body of a 40-year-old man was found floating in a drain connected to the Lyari river in Gulbahar.
