LOWER DIR: The Lower Dir police on Saturday claimed to have arrested two individuals after a disturbing video went viral on social media showing a woman being harassed in public.

According to the FIR registered at the Balambat police station, the incident occurred on a link road to Madina Colony. The video footage shows a woman being followed and harassed by two men in broad daylight. The accused attempted to intimidate and harass the woman in a public place, which sparked outrage after the video surfaced on social media.

Upon receiving the video, district police officer Abdul Salam Khalid took immediate notice and directed the police officials to take swift action.

Subsequently, the police, led by SHO Rahim Gul Khan, launched a search operation and arrested the two accused, identified as Karamat Shah and Mohammad Shah, both residents of Samarbagh, and currently living in Qaziabad Balambat. The accused were also presented to the media at Balambat police station.

A case has been registered against them under sections 279, 354, 509, 511, and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code. The suspects were presented before a magistrate and are now under investigation.

Meanwhile, a youth identified as Zuvid Khan, a resident of Amirabad Chakdara, was killed when his motorcycle met a fatal accident in Chakdara on Saturday.
