ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Women’s Wing on Thursday held a protest outside the Islamabad High Court.

The protest, organised on the directions of Kanwal Shauzab, was attended by regional and district presidents of Insaf women wing from all over Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

The Islamabad team was led by President Islamabad Region Maimoona Kamal, General Secretary Mehar Nigar and District Presidents NA-46 Khurshid Jahan, NA-47 Aqsa Qasim and NA-48 Naghma Khalid.

Protesters demanded fair and fast justice for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, asserting that cases against them were fabricated and politically motivated.

“The Alqadir case, like the Cipher and Iddat cases, is politically motivated. If the case lacks merit, a fair and impartial judicial process would likely lead to its dismissal. However, delaying such cases can be seen as an attempt to keep Imran Khan in custody for reasons unrelated to the case itself,” Maimoona Kamal said. She further demanded to give respect to people’s mandate and uphold the February 8 election results where the majority voted for PTI.

She said that it was strange that the case was again adjourned, as a new prosecutor has been appointed.

“These tactics are only contributing to further delay the judgement. Judiciary should not forget that justice delayed is justice denied. We will continue our struggle for the release of Imran Khan,” Maimoona Kamal said.
