SWAT: Four people were killed and two injured in separate road accidents here on Tuesday.

Rahimabad police said a passenger bus collided with a car travelling to Buner near Odigram area, resulting in the deaths of Altaf Rehman, Yasir Khan and Fida Mohammad, residents of Deewana Baba Degar area of Buner.

Khalil Zada, a resident of Gagra Buner, was injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, two motorcycles collided in Malaki Dam area of Barikot, resulting in the death of one rider and the injuries to another.

The injured individuals from both the accidents were transferred to local hospitals for treatment.

STAY ORDER ISSUED: A division bench of the Peshawar High Court, Mingora Bench, comprising Justice Sabitullah Khan and Justice Qazi Javad Ihsanullah on Tuesday issued a stay order against the implementation of the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) law at Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital (STH).

The bench also sought a response from the provincial government about implementation of the MTI Act at STH.

In a petition filed by Ayub Khan Mishwani, his lawyers Arshad Ali Khan and Asif Iqbal argued before the court that STH did not meet the requirements set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and therefore, the MTI law cannot be enforced here until the hospital complies.

After hearing the arguments, the bench issued a stay order against the MTI law implementation and directed the provincial government to submit a response at the next hearing.
