Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has received a letter from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Qatari Foreign Ministry has said in a post on X.

The content of the letter was not revealed by the ministry but said it pertains to “bilateral ties and the means to enhance them”.

The message was received by Minister for State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi during a meeting with Ambassador of Iran to Qatar Ali Salehabadi.

According to Reuters, Qatar is among the countries that have appealed to Washington to press Israel to agree to a ceasefire and resume talks with Tehran aimed at achieving a nuclear deal.
