NAWABSHAH: Two members of a family died and condition of three others deteriorated after eating meal, which was suspected to be poisonous, in Ghulam Dastgir Rajar village near Chotiyari, Sanghar district, on Sunday.
All the five victims were taken to the nearest Tando Mitha Khan Basic Health Unit where the two identified as Umar Rajar and Sanoo Keerio were declared dead on arrival and the remaining three, Umar Rajar, Azhar Rajar and Mehmaan Bibi were rushed to Sanghar civil hospital where doctors were trying to save their lives.
The family suspected that an insect or reptile might have fallen into the food when it was being prepared and made it poisonous.
Chotiyari SHO Nabi Bakhsh Lashari informed reporters that investigation was being made from all possible angles of the incident. Chemical analysis of the contaminated food and medical reports of the victims would further clarify the cause of death, he said.
