MARDAN: A couple was shot dead in Mulyanu village in the limits of Jabbar police station, officials said here on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Zafar Iqbal and his wife, Farzana, hailing from Faisalabad.

The preliminary investigations revealed that Iqbal had come to his brother’s house in Mulyanu village a few days back.

An FIR registered by Mazhar, brother of the deceased, stated that five accused entered his house at about 1am and opened indiscriminate fire that caused the instant death of Iqbal and his wife. He cited a domestic dispute as the reason behind the killing.

The police nominated five accused in the case on the complaint of Mazhar. They were identified as Sarbiland, Munir, Imran, Asad and Wajid.
