CHAKWAL: Four people lost their lives in two separate incidents, police said on Saturday.

The first incident occurred near Sarkal Kassar village when a trailer loaded with wheat sacks overturned on Friday night. As a result, all three persons including the driver of the trailer got stuck in the vehicle. The traffic on the road also came to a halt as the road was blocked due to the trailer. The wheat sacks scattered on the road.

Personnel of Rescue 1122 and Chakwal police reached the scene but the rescuers found all the three men dead. The rescuers took out the bodies by cutting the trailer and shifted them to District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal.

The dead were identified as Syed Mehran Hussain 32, a resident of Dharabi village, Jahanzeb Nazeer 32, a resident of Talagang, and Hamza Ameer 18, a resident of Thoha Mahram Khan village.

According to the police the trailer was on its way to Haripur from Chakwal.

Heavy machinery was called in to remove the trailer from the road.

A police official told Dawn that the incident occurred due to speeding.

The second incident occurred in Minhala village in Choa Saidan Shah tehsil when Aun Abbas, 45, fell from a trolley and was run over by it. He died on the spot.
