BADIN, May 10: The principal and teachers of the Badin Polytechnic College have accused a group of activists of a nationalist party of indulging in rowdyism and extorting ‘bhatta’.

They urged the higher authorities to take necessary action against the group to help them establish an education-friendly atmosphere in the college.

College Principal Nazar Shah and teachers Saifuddin Abbasi, Nazir Ahmed Memon and Mohammad Aachar said at a press conference that the group, which was not even studying at the college, pasted posters and forcibly hoisted the flag of their party in the college on April 26.

When the staff tried to stop them, they threatened that anyone removing the posters should be prepared for the consequences, said the principal, adding that “we want to avoid agitation for getting our problems resolved”. The college had kept the DCO, DPO and authorities concerned apprised of such incidents but nobody had done anything yet, they regretted.
