SHIKARPUR, May 10: MNA Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Jatoi has condemned demolition of Sindhi villages in Karachi. However, he appreciated steps taken by the Sindh chief minister for protection of decade-old villages in the metropolis.

He was speaking at a meeting of notables called by him at the press club to discuss city problems here on Wednesday.

Dr Jatoi opposed the construction of Kalabagh dam and all other anti-Sindh projects.

He said that he would not compromise on principles to meet individual interests rather he would struggle restoration of usurped rights of the people at every stage. He expressed concern over the step-motherly attitude of Shikarpur district government towards Khanpur taluka and Shikarpur in development schemes. He condemned cancellation of tender of development schemes sanctioned by district government during previous tenure. However, he advised the district government administration to avoid negative tactics and make efforts for betterment of the people in the district without any discrimination because people had voted them to power to get their outstanding problems resolved and also develop their areas through their elected representatives.

Dr Jatoi also appealed to politicians to develop political conception with a positive approach and serve the people without any political victimization.

Earlier, Haji Nisar Ahmed Memon, president of All Small Traders Association Shikarpur, Mohammad Paryal Mari, advocate, Naveed Alam Abro, Mumtaz Mangi, Wahid Bux Shaikh, Agha Sanaullah Durrani advocate, Azad Jokhio and others lauded Dr Jatoi’s efforts for solution of problems and put forth suggestions for their solution.
