Youth dies by suicide in Bajaur

BAJAUR: A youth allegedly killed himself in Khar tehsil here the other day.

The incident was reported in Kosar area in the limits of the Lowi Sam police station.

Relatives and other villagers told Dawn that Zahidullah, a 17-year-old schoolchild, shot himself with a rifle in his house after having heated exchanges with his father, Asghar Khan, over an issue.

They said the youth was critically wounded and immediately taken to the district headquarters hospital in Khar by a team of Rescue 1222 medical workers.

However, the doctors declared him dead before he was to be shifted to the operating theatre for surgery.

The police said they had begun an investigation into the incident.
