QUETTA: The elections for reserved seats of the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) will take place on August 3, according to the schedule announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Thursday.

As per the schedule, the returning officers will issue public notices on June 23. Candidates can submit nomination papers between June 24 and 27, and the list of nominated candidates will be published on June 28.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from June 30 to July 2. Appeals against the decision of returning officers can be filed from July 3 to 8, with appellate tribunals expected to announce their decisions between July 9 and 11.

A revised list of candidates will be published on July 12. The deadline for candidates to withdraw their nomination papers is July 14. The final list of candidates, along with their allocated electoral symbols will be released on July 15. Polling will take place on August 3 and results announced on August 6.
