PESHAWAR: Kohat regional police officer Abbas Majeed Marwat on Monday urged the subordinate officers to remain vigilant and proactive to prevent any untoward incident on Eidul Azha.

He said that safety of the public and the peaceful observance of Eidul Azha must remain the foremost priority of all the officers, according to an official statement issued by his office.

Mr Marwat, while chairing a meeting on law and order to review security and operational readiness ahead of Eidul Azha, stressed close coordination with district administrations to ensure seamless execution of all arrangements.

The meeting was attended by the district police officers of Kohat, Karak, Hangu, Orakzai, and Kurram, as well as superintendents of police’s Counter-Terrorism Department, Kohat and Kurram.

During the meeting, Eid security arrangements were reviewed and finalised, with particular emphasis on ensuring peace and safety during large public gatherings.

RPO Marwat directed all districts to ensure effective deployment of personnel at mosques, bazaars, cattle markets, and other key locations, along with well-coordinated traffic management plans to prevent congestion.
