TAXILA: District administration of Attock has established as many as seven temporary cattle markets across different tehsils to facilitate the sale and purchase of animals for Eidul Azha.

This move aims to ensure a well-organised and clean environment during the festive period. These include Haji Shah Road, Tehsil Attock, Khanzada Housing Society, Hazro, near Cadet College GT road, Hassanabdal, College Road, near Rest House, Fatehjang, Chungi No. 5, Mohalla Hari Wala, and Pindigheb.

In addition, permanent livestock markets will remain open as usual, including the Gondal, Tehsil Attock, Gali Jagir, Tehsil Fatehjang, and Domel, Tehsil Jand, railway ground, and Tehsil Jand cattle markets.

Talking to newsmen during his review of the arrangements at the cattle market, Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza has said that in light of instructions from the Punjab Chief Minister, the district administration has set up seven sale points across the Attock district for the purchase and sale of livestock on the occasion of Eidul Azha. These cattle markets are providing all necessary facilities to ensure a smooth transaction process for buyers and sellers”.

He emphasised that selling and buying sacrificial animals on roads and streets is prohibited. Further, he added that the administration is committed to keeping city areas clean during Eidul Azha. “District administration’s efforts aim to provide a structured environment for the community to engage in Eidul Azha preparations without disrupting city life”, he added.

On this occasion, officials were directed to enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) strictly, and vendors violating these rules will face consequences.
