MANSEHRA: The district administration on Friday announced the establishment of facilitation centres for visitors to Kaghan valley during Eid days.

“We expect an influx of tourists in our district, particularly in the Kaghan Valley. All departments, especially Rescue 1122, police, the health department and tehsil municipal administrations, will remain on high alert,” deputy commissioner Khalid Iqbal told a meeting at the New Circuit House.

The meeting was also attended by the heads and representatives of devolved departments, Rescue 1122, TMAs, police, and Kaghan Hoteliers Association president Seth Matiullah.

The DC said facilitation centres would be established in Shogran and Kaghan valley to provide tourists with guidance on weather conditions, road clearance, and other important information.

“Rescue 1122 will remain on high alert in Mansehra, Kaghan and other parts of the district to handle any emergencies before, during and after the Eid holidays,” he said.

Mr Iqbal said health facilities at the district headquarters hospital and in Kaghan Valley would remain operational around the clock to provide emergency medical services.

On the occasion, Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Shahnawaz Khan said special contingents of police would be deployed in the Kaghan Valley.

“We have finalised a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road up to Babusar Top,” he said.

Seth Matiullah said the local business community would provide quality hospitality services without overcharging visitors.

Tehsil municipal officer Mazhar Muzaffar Awan said cattle markets would be established in the city and its suburbs.

“We have developed a comprehensive strategy and formed special teams for the swift disposal of offal and other waste from slaughtered animals,” he said.

Meanwhile, police on Friday seized around 100 liquor bottles from a distillery illegally set up inside a school in the Darseri area of Naran.

“We seized around 100 liquor bottles, along with chemicals and other materials used in manufacturing liquor, and arrested the accused behind this illegal activity,” DPO Shafiullah Khan Gandapur told reporters.

Mohammad Faisal, who escaped during the raid, was arrested later.

“We have also initiated a special inquiry to determine how a distillery operated inside a government school building, which is currently in a dilapidated condition,” Mr Gandapur said.

He also announced commendation certificates for the police team that uncovered the distillery, seized the liquor and arrested culprits.
