ISLAMABAD: In a landmark step towards strengthening Pakistan-China educational collaboration, the Institute of Contemporary Studies (ICS) and Tang Chinese Education & Technology Ltd (TANG) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to launch advanced technical education initiatives in Pakistan.

The agreement focuses on introducing Matric Tech, Inter Tech and NAVTTC-certified skill development programmes in 20 educational institutions across Karachi, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories provided by TANG, says a press release here on Wednesday. The MoU was signed during a grand job fair organised by NAVTTC at the Pak-China Friendship Center, Islamabad.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal.

Ambassador Zaidong emphasised the importance of skill development as a foundation for socio-economic progress and reiterated China’s commitment to strengthening bilateral employment ties. He also pledged support in facilitating job opportunities for Pakistan’s skilled youth in Chinese enterprises operating within and beyond Pakistan.

The education minister lauded the initiative as a visionary step toward empowering the next generation and fostering sustainable, industry-relevant education aligned with national growth objectives.
