TOBA TEK SINGH: The murder case of a woman, who was eight months pregnant and killed a few weeks ago in Faisalabad, has been traced.

Her brother-in-law (her husband’s younger brother) has turned out to be the killer. He was arrested by Millat Town police.

Police said suspect Ali Rizwan had earlier got a murder case registered as complainant against the relatives of deceased Aqsa Bibi. However, when police arrested him as a suspect, he revealed that he had obtained a loan of Rs11 million from Aqsa’s mother, and the deceased was pressing him to return her mother’s money.

Over this, he planned her killing and hired three shooters, identified as Saifullah, Sarwar, and Usman, who shot her dead when she was returning from a doctor’s clinic after getting her medicine.

Police have also arrested the three shooters.

MURDER: A young man was murdered by unidentified people near the locality of Smart City in the Dijkot area of Faisalabad on Tuesday.

The body of Muhammad Arsalan, 20, of Ghausia Park in Dijkot, was found in crop fields outside Dijkot city. Multiple bullet wounds were visible on his body.

The body was shifted to the Dijkot Rural Health Centre for autopsy.

ARRESTED: Chak Jhumra police in Faisalabad have arrested hardened criminal identified as Zeeshan Shani Dhillon of Chak 186-RB, who was a symbol of fear for the public.

He was resorting to aerial firing on the sem nullah on Chak Jhumra–Khurrianwala Road on Monday night when police chased him. His accomplices opened fire on the police and, although multiple bullets hit the police van, the policemen remained unhurt.

When police cordoned off the area, his accomplices managed to flee while he alone continued firing. When his bullets ran out, he was arrested. Police recovered illegal arms from his custody.

A case has been registered against him on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Toqeer Akhtar under Sections 7 of ATA and 440, 286, 353, and 324 of PPC.

He was involved in multiple incidents of kidnapping men and women over minor issues and harassing people at gunpoint and through aerial firing.

RETRIEVED: Up to 40 acres belonging to the forest department were retrieved in Chak 534/GB in an operation against land grabbers in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

According to a press release, 100 acres of illegally occupied government land were recovered so far during the ongoing crackdown in Jaranwala tehsil.

The operation was supervised by the Conservator of Forests and the district forest officer. Crops cultivated on the retrieved land were also confiscated by the government.

The press release added that the plantation process is underway on 60 acres of already recovered land.

TRAIN ACCIDENT: A man died after being hit by a train near Abbaspur railway station in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

Reports said the unidentified deceased, aged around 50 years, was crossing the track at Dhainga railway level crossing when a train ran over him, killing him on the spot.
