HARIPUR: Three including a police constable were killed while two others critically injured in two road accidents in different parts of the district on Thursday.

The police said that the first road accident was reported from the limits of Sera-i-Saleh police station on Thursday morning when a Suzuki high roof was on its way to Abbottabad from Haripur carrying three persons.

When it reached near Mohra Kalanwan Chowk, it collided head on with a dumper truck killing two including a police constable on the spot while their friend was critically injured. Those killed were identified as Zaryab Tahir and Adnan Khan while the injured Faizan Qureshi was referred to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad in critical condition.

In another road accident, Malik Zakriya a resident of Mohalla Roshanabad died on the spot when his motorcycle skidded and collided with a standing high roof Suzuki near T&T Colony. Police said that another motorcyclist, who was involved in a race with the deceased, was injured.

Meanwhile, a young man was found dead in an orchard of his native village Chuniari in Tehsil Ghazi. The police said that the area people spotted a body of a young man hanging from the tree and informed the police.

The body was removed to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital where the deceased was identified as Waqas Ahmed 22, son of Sarfraz Ahmed of village Chuniari Ghazi. The police said the circumstantial evidence showed that the young man had committed suicide.
