PESHAWAR, May 6: Expressing satisfaction over the performance of Peshawar police, IGP Mohammad Raffat Pasha on Saturday said that control over street crimes has provided a sense of security to citizens.

He said this while presiding over a meeting of the police officers at the Police Lines.

Police performance was judged by increase or decrease in the rate of crimes, he said.

He said any neglect on part of a police official earned a bad name for the entire department.

Speaking on the occasion Capital City Police Officer Haji Habibur Rehman said that discipline and chain of command were basic factors of the police force. Reward and punishment system in the police had yielded positive results, he said, adding that police officials showing poor performance would not be spared.

SSP (Operations) Saeed Khan Wazir also attended the meeting.—APP
