KARACHI: A meeting was held at the mayor’s office to review progress on the Lyari Transformation Project (LTP), a major initiative aimed at the socio-economic and infrastructural uplift of Lyari.

Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab chaired the meeting and was briefed by a representative of the National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) on the proposed implementation on the plan and scope of work.

The presentation highlighted key components focused on urban renewal, improved civic amenities and inclusive development.

The meeting was attended by Faheem Chachar, project director LTP; Nasir Kareem, Lyari town chairman; Hammad Khan, municipal commissioner Lyari; as well as elected representatives from Lyari.

During the session, the mayor emphasised the need for swift execution and practical implementation.

Mr Wahab instructed the project director to finalise the feasibility report without further delay and begin on-ground work immediately.

“The transformation of Lyari is not just a promise — it’s a priority,” the mayor said, adding: “Every milestone must be achieved with commitment and urgency.”
