GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency’simmigration authority detained a prime suspect in a double-murder case when was about to flee the country via the Sialkot Airport within 12 hours of the crime.

An FIA official told Dawn that during immigration clearance of flight EK619, name of Raja Muhammad Naeem of Sheikhupura village showed up on the computer system since he was wanted by Kakrali police station of Gujrat. He was handed over to police concerned.

Meanwhile, the Kakarali police registered the double murder against at 13 people, including seven nominated by Muhammad Iftikhar, the brother of slain Raja Asif who along with a friend Malik Zahid of Bhand Garan was shot dead in an ambush on Sunday over an old enmity.

Earlier, another prime suspect in a murder case of Lalamusa Saddar police was arrested at Sialkot airport while fleeing to Europe within eight hours of the incident after Station House Officer Mehr Attique in a swift action uploaded the name of the suspects on the PNIL.

On the other hand, the immigration authorities have detained a beggar at Sialkot airport. He was deported from Saudi Arabia on Monday.
