SAHIWAL: Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Ziaullah Khan sentenced Zubair Imran, banned Sipah Sahaba Pakistan activist, to four years and eight months of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs20,000 for distributing hate-based material and pamphlets in Pakpattan City.
According to reports, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) apprehended Zubair on July 9, 2023, at Pakpattan city. He was found distributing books, magzines, and pamphlets inciting hatred. Subsequently, a case was registered against him under sections 11F(2), 119W, and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA), as well as section 13/2 of the Arms Act, based on a complaint filed by CTD Inspector Waqas Sharif.
SUICIDE: A 22-year-old youth died by suicide in village 79/9-L on Saturday night. Reports indicate that Abdul Gafoor, agricultural labourer, struggled to meet the monetary requests of his unemployed son, Shan. The young man exchanged words with his parents and later hanged himself within the house premises. Yousafwala police handed over the body to his family.
