HYDERABAD/MIRPURKHAS/THATTA/BADIN: Men, women and children carrying the national flag danced in the streets of big and small cities, towns and villages across Sindh on Sunday to observe ‘Yaum-i-Tashakkur’ on Pakistan’s triumph in the just-ended war-like battle with India.
Rallies to celebrate the triumph were taken out in Larkana where people from all walks of life saluted brave Pakitan soldiers who inflicted heavy losses to India in the battle.
Ghulam Yaseen Mirani, Irfan Sehar, Naveed Chauhan of the MQM-P Larkana division led a rally taken out from Allahabad. It passed through various streets and concluded in front of the local press club, where sweets were distributed.
Another rally was organised by residents of Pathan village under the title ‘Victory March’. The participants carrying Pakistani flags marched through main roads and held a demonstration outside the press club.
The Pakistan Khasakheli Rajoni Ittehad, led by Sardar Ghulam Murtaza Khan Khasakheli, also held a demonstration outside the press club. He stated that the Pak Army operation uplifted the nation’s pride and earned respect globally.
The Badin district administration organised a rally to mark the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Yasir Bhatti hoisted national flag at his office, and said it represented a commitment to public service, loyalty, and patriotic spirit.
PTI holds rallies
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) held rallies in Hyderabad and Tharparkar districts to denounce Indian Premier Narendra Modi as “terrorist” and condemn his hostile actions against Pakistan.
The rallies were led by Sindh PTI President Haleem Adil Shaikh and Dr Mustansar Billah.
The Hyderabad rally started from Fatah Chowk and ended at Hyder Chowk, where the leaders said the entire nation stood united whenever it came to Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, integrity and solidarity.
The leaders pointed out that members of majority and all minority communities were rejoicing India’s defeat in the battle and its surrender before the Pakistan armed forces.
Haleem Sheikh pointed out that the Indian forces attacked mosques and seminaries but Pakistani forces hit no religious place. “We targeted enemy’s military bases and installations alone,” he said, and saluted Pakistan’s armed forces for their bravery.
He said Pakistani nation would not accept ceasefire until the Indus Waters Treaty was restored.
He expressed his confidence in Imran Khan’s leadership and said Khan was incarcerated for standing up for national rights. He said Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and thousands of PTI workers were unjustly imprisoned. He demanded their immediate release in prevailing circumstances.
PTI Joint Secretary Haji Nisar Arain, Dr Jaipal Chhabria, Aftab Qureshi and others also spoke.
PTI minority leader Phulaj Kolhi said: “We want to tell [Narendra] Modi that Pakistan’s Muslims and Hindus are united. If you make a mistake, we will respond to it with full force, just as our ancestor Rooplo Kolhi, had once fought the British. We are patriotic Pakistanis and we stand shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan. This nation needs Imran Khan,” he said.
PTI leaders also took out a rally in Tharparkar and held a demonstration at Zero point.
The participants were led by Haleem Adil Shaikh along with Aftab Qureshi and Raja Abdul Haq.
PTI Thatta district president Amjad Shah, along with Hosh Mohammad Abbasi, Waheed Rind, Irfan Manikani and others, led a rally which passed through various roads and ended outside the Thatta Press Club.
Raising slogans against Indian aggression against Pakistan, the participants torched an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
They praised the Pakistan Army for proving to be the world’s best army which, without any outside support, forced India to surrender within a couple of hours.
The Markazi Muslim League staged rally in Latifabad, Hyderabad district, to express solidarity with the Paksitan armed forces. It was led by Aqeel Ahmed, the party’s Hyderabad division president. The rally started from Bagh-i-Mustafa and passed through different areas.
