KARACHI: The provincial health secretary on Saturday inaugurated the newly established stroke and coronary care units at the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK).

As per the officials, the 12-bedded coronary care unit (CCU) and the five-bedded stroke unit are now fully operational with dedicated staff. The former is equipped with individual cardiac monitors and telemetry devices, while the letter features integrated vital-sign beds, two ventilators and advanced neuro-intensive care monitors.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside CHK Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Khalid Bukhari, provincial health secretary Rehan Iqbal Baloch said the new facilities reflect the government’s strong commitment to making high-quality critical care services accessible to the community.
