MIRAMSHAH, May 4: Two tribesmen were wounded when paramilitary forces opened fire on a car near Semetary checkposts in Miramshah, North Wazirsitan Agency, on Thursday.

Sources said that the car heading towards South Waziristan Agency from Miramshah was carrying five people and it was stopped at the checkpost at 2pm for checking.

The soldiers ordered that they hand over their weapons.

It was alleged by the sources that the soldiers opened fire on the passengers after they had surrendered their weapons. Two of them were injured.

Four of them were arrested along with the two who were injured while the driver managed to escape.

The tribesmen belong to the Mahsud tribe of the South Waziristan Agency.

Witnesses said that local people blocked the Miramshah-Bannu Road to protest against the provocative action of security forces.
