MANSEHRA: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl on Thursday announced that it would hold the Shuhada-i-Gaza Conference in Peshawar on May 11.
“Our leaders from within the country and abroad, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman and those who have raised voice for Palestine at international platforms, are likely to attend this event to demand an end to Muslim genocide in Gaza,” JUI-F provincial emir Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman told a workers’ convention here.
Party workers and leaders from across the Hazara Division attended the moot and unanimously expressed concern over the brutal killing of children and women in the Gaza Strip.
Mr Rehman said the conference would draw one of the largest crowds in Peshawar’s history, as the people of Pakistan and all political parties were united in calling for an end to the Palestinian genocide and a ceasefire to Israeli aggression.
“Our party also strongly condemns India’s war threats and stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army. This is our country, and our armed forces are responsible for protecting its borders,” he said.
JUI-F provincial general secretary Maulana Attaul Haq Darwesh urged workers to mobilise people for the success of the Shuhada-i-Gaza Conference.
“Our party will never be part of any opposition alliance that includes the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, which has created chaos in the country and promoted a politics of hatred and character assassination of our leadership,” he said.
Mr Darwesh said that religious scholars from within the country and abroad would attend the conference in large numbers.
“Our workers have already conveyed the message of the party’s leadership across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to people, urging to attend the event and raise voice against the genocide of Muslims in Palestine,” he said.
The JUI-F leaders, including Mansehra emir Syed Hidayatullah Shah and general secretary Maulana Nasir Mehmood, emir in Haripur Maulana Fiazur Rehman, chief in Abbottabad Maulana Anisur Rehman and president of the party’s divisional lawyers’ forum in Hazara Waqarul Muluk also addressed the convention.
