KARACHI: A young man died by suicide in the Bin Qasim area on Tuesday, police said.

They added that Ihsanullah, 32, ended his life by hanging himself inside his home in Pir Marri Goth.

Bin Qasim Town SHO Tahir Qadri said the victim was jobless. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident, 32-year-old committed suicide in Jehanabad on Tuesday evening.

Site Superhighway Industrial Area SHO Khalid Abbasi said the deceased hanged herself inside her home near Kashti Wali Gali. The officer said the victim was stated to be “emotionally disturbed.”

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, a young man attempted suicide by shooting himself in F.B. Area, Block-2 on Tuesday evening.

Azizabad SHO Aamir Azam told Dawn that Rizwan Razzak, 35, tried to shoot himself near Hafta Bazaar Park in Azizabad. He was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, from where he was referred to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.

The officer said the man had shot himself on his chest and his condition was critical. Quoting relatives, the officer said the victim was suffering from financial crises.

Woman’s tortured body found in trunk

The tortured body of a woman was found in a trunk in Malir City early Tuesday morning, police and rescue services officials said.

They said the body, believed to be around two days old and bearing signs of torture, was recovered from a street in Ghazi Goth.

Malir City SHO Farasat Shah told Dawn that the victim appeared to be in her mid-40s.

“It appears she was murdered elsewhere and her body was later dumped here,” he added.

The woman could not be identified through her thumb impression. The police are trying to gather information from the area residents.

The corpse was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Meanwhile, police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested four suspects on charges of stealing crude oil by installing a clip after digging a tunnel in Shah Latif Town.

“The police have foiled an attempt to steal crude oil from an underground pipeline near the Malir river in Yar Mohammed Goth,” a police statement said.
