DERA GHAZI KHAN: Federal Minister for Energy Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has urged students to engage in goal-oriented hard work and warned them against falling prey to false information.

Speaking at the second convocation of the Ghazi University on Saturday, Mr Leghari said: “We are living in an era inundated with false and right information. It is our duty to cling to the right information, and it is a difficult task in this flood of information.”

At the convocation, more than 5,000 students from the 2019-21 sessions were awarded degrees, while 300 top position holders received gold medals for their outstanding academic performance.

According to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ashfaq Ahmed, preparations for the third convocation will begin immediately, during which degrees would be awarded to the graduates of the 2022 and 2023 sessions.

In connection with the convocation, an alumni meetup was also organised, attended by 2,000 former students.

Later, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ashfaq Ahmed presented a commemorative shield to the chief guest, who, in return, along with the vice chancellor, presented shields to Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman Khalid, DPO Syed Ali, Additional Secretary Qamaruz Zaman Qaisarani, Parliam-entary Secretary Ajmal Khan Chandio, MNAs Ammar Khan Leghari, MPAs Muhammad Hanif Pitafi, Salahuddin Khosa, Ali Yusuf Leghari, and vice chancellors of 10 universities.
