SAHIWAL, May 3: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) on Wednesday registered a case against Kamir police SHO and an assistant sub-inspector for allegedly receiving bribe.

Reports said SHO Ghulam Mohi and ASI Waheed Shah received a sum of Rs20,000 from one Sarfaraz Ahmed of Kamir for discharge of a fake case registered against his brother. The officials did not discharge the case. After an inquiry, the ACE registered a case against the policemen under Section 161 of the PPC and 52/47 of the PCA with no arrest.

LOOTED: Robbers looted valuables worth over Rs500,000 here on Tuesday night in two hits.

Reports said four bandits entered the house of Abdul Majid Dogar at Chak 59/12-L, held hostage the family members and made off with Rs125,000, jewellery worth Rs375,000, a cell phone and a licenced gun.

At City Liaquat Chowk, robbers shot injured one Bashir Ahmed and took away his cell phone and a cash of Rs2,000.

LOW VOLTAGE: Residents of Farid Town Scheme-III and Bilal Colony have protested against low power voltage which broke down their electronic appliances.

They have demanded an inquiry and suspension of responsible Wapda officials.
