PESHAWAR: In a landmark initiative reflecting interfaith harmony and commitment to community service, the Cantonment Board Peshawar (CBP) provided a free shuttle service for Christians in the cantonment area on Easter.

To facilitate smooth and dignified transportation for worshippers attending Easter prayers, three electric carts were deployed along with dedicated staff to ensure a seamless commute to and from churches within the cantonment’s vicinity.

This measure, the first of its kind in Peshawar, was widely appreciated by the public, especially by members of the Christian community, who described it as a meaningful gesture of solidarity and respect.

CBP chief executive officer Chaudhry Baber Hussain said, “This initiative reflects our shared values of coexistence and mutual respect. Every citizen, regardless of faith, deserves ease and dignity, especially on religious occasions.”

The effort was applauded as a symbol of interfaith harmony reinforcing Peshawar’s tradition of peaceful coexistence and inclusive local governance.
