TAXILA: Police booked a 26-year-old man for attempting to sexually assault his sibling in Irshadnagar area of Hassanabdal on Sunday.

The father of the girl reported to police his 17-year-old daughter was alone at home when his son, who works as a helper with a truck, came back and attempted to rape her. As she voiced alarm, the suspect escaped.

After medical examination of the girl at the tehsil headquarters hospital, police registered a case against the suspect.

Meanwhile, one person was killed and two others were injured in separate accidents in Attock.

In the first accident, a young man was killed while his friend injured when their motorcycle collided head-on with a passenger wagon on Gondal road near Samma chowk in the limits of Hazro police station. Separately, a man received burn injuries when lightning hit him in Numal village in the limits of Jand police station.

Mohammad Rehan was playing cricket in an open place near his house when lightning hit him. He was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital from where he was shifted to Holy Family Hospital Rawalpindi.
